    Book Releases: January 2020 (II)

Not that I completely forgot I had to do this post, but I maybe completely forgot I had to do this post. But no matter! I’m just in time.

The first part of January brought us an influx of amazing releases (check them out here), and the second part continues with that. I know I said that there were 45 books out this month, but I have since found several more and that number is closer to 70 now (and, of course, we missed the release date of a few, so get ready for a massive post at the end of the year again).

But anyway, take a peek at what’s in store!

And as ever, all our previous posts are here.

    ARC Review: Nottingham

    45990075._sy475_

Robyn Hood didn’t set out to rob the rich, but in Nottingham, nothing ever goes according to plan….

After a fateful hunting accident sends her on the run from the law, Robyn finds herself deep in the heart of Sherwood Forest. All she really wants to do is provide for her family and stay out of trouble, but when the Sheriff of Nottingham levies the largest tax in the history of England, she’s forced to take matters into her own hands. Relying on the help of her band of merry women and the Sheriff’s intriguing—and off limits—daughter, Marian, Robyn must find a way to pull off the biggest heist Sherwood has ever seen.

With both heart and freedom at stake, just how much will she risk to ensure the safety of the ones she loves?

    Book Recs: Sapphic Mystery/Thrillers (II)

I’m back with another sapphic rec list and just in time for #FFFeb! (If you haven’t heard, I’m running a month of only reading sapphic books on twitter and you’re welcome to join! More info is here.) Since mystery is my favourite genre (and Mahana @ Sapphic Library told me to do thrillers), this rec list is, unsurprisingly, full of mystery and thrillers.

To note first though, a fair few books on here are upcoming, so I have occasionally only been able to find limited information about them. So, apologies if I have made a mistake anywhere.

As ever, all the previous posts are here.

    ARC Review: The Relic Spell

    48652004._sx318_

Magic rolls through Orion Tamura’s history classroom like a tidal wave of golden light that only he can see. The spell is deadly, and Orion has no idea who cast it or what they want.

Answers are scarce—all of Port Monica’s sorcerers vanished fourteen years before, including Orion’s father. Armed with his limited knowledge of magic, Orion is the only one left in the city who is strong enough to investigate the origins of the spell.

But the city’s leaders will stop at nothing to censor and sabotage anyone who gets close to the truth. Invisible otherworlders watch every move Orion and his friends make, and a mysterious sorcerer who knows the answers haunts Orion’s dreams.

Book Releases: LGBT YA Books of January-June 2020

If you’ve been following our blog for a while, you might be aware that I (Anna) tend to read YA literature. Well, not exclusively, but I sure enjoy it a lot. So for me to make a post solely about YA releases was really just a matter of time…

There are about 100 books listed here, getting publish from Janury to June 2020. Hopefully I didn’t miss anything but as a disclaimer: this is a list of all LGBT YA upcoming books I know about today. For books out between July and December 2020, head over here.

The books are divided by publication month and each has the rep listed (in as detailed way, as we were able to find out). Books by LGBT authors also have a rainbow emoji next to them.

Book Releases: All The 2019 Releases We Heard About Too Late

A good few times this year, I turned to Anna or Anna turned to me (metaphorically because we are some 1,000 miles away from one another in real life) and said hey look I found another book we missed off our list! Because there are several many books we either didn’t hear about in time (sad) or didn’t know were gay at all (even sadder).

So, because we want to promote ALL the LGBT books we possibly can, we started this post. All the LGBT books we didn’t hear about in time to add to our monthly releases list (and, if you thought we had some long monthly releases lists, you haven’t seen anything yet).

Undoubtedly, there are still more we’ve missed off, even after all this, but here are the 158 books that we didn’t get the first time round.

But before we start, just for you all, have a list of

ALL THE LGBT RELEASES (THAT WE KNEW ABOUT) FROM 2019

    Book Recs: Best of 2019

Last year we only allowed ourselves to choose 3 best books each. That was torture and so this year we expanded that number to 5. We were also very careful to choose only books that were published in 2019 and read by us in 2019 (barring one 2020 release from me, Charlotte, because I never listen to what Anna says and also I need everyone to mark it to read ASAP).

I wonder if any of our choices are predictable to you, guys…

In any case, here are ten best LGBT books we have read this year! (And our dear wish that we could have pick more books.)

    Book Club: January Read

It’s approaching the end of December which means it’s time to announce our book club read for January! As ever, we got you to vote on twitter and you picked the genre of… (drum roll please) ROMANCE!

Read on to find out which book we selected! And look out for our reviews* of December’s read sometime next month.

*Disclaimer: we may not actually have read it by that point… oops.

    Book Releases: January 2020 (I)

It’s a new year, and a new list of releases to crack on with. We have, so far, amassed over 350 upcoming books for 2020. And of those, 45 are out in January (that we currently know of, because undoubtedly we’ll find we missed some out eventually).

So, as an early Christmas present, here are the first two weeks of January releases!

As ever, all our previous posts are here.

Most Anticipated 2020 Releases: January to June

It’s that time of year again when we can look at everything that is coming our way and chose what we’re most excited about. We do these things because we like to suffer… Honestly, our list of 2020 LGBT books is almost 300 titles long and we decided making a list of twelve is a good idea?

But hey, who doesn’t like lists, right? So dive in to see which books of the upcoming six months we simply cannot wait to read!

Book Recs: Christmas (and Other Winter Holidays)

Because we promised (vaguely, maybe a while back on twitter), me and Anna have some wintery rec lists for you! We’ve trawled through all the Christmas (and other winter holiday) media, just to find something gay all for you (ask Anna about her travails with Christmas films I dare you).

And here is the first of those rec lists! Ten books (mostly novellas in this one) for you set during Christmas (or another winter holiday, but mostly Christmas because it’s surprisingly difficult to find holiday novellas that are a) gay and b) not Christmas-specific. Obviously I wasn’t trying hard enough).

    But anyway. Onwards.

Reads Rainbow Awards 2019: The Results

It’s that time!!! The votes are in, and we’re about to announce the results of our Alternative Choice Awards (Goodreads who?). You’ve been voting for 5 weeks and now we have our winners*.

*In the interests of promoting as much LGBT lit as we can, we were actually just going to put top 5, but then some categories had multiple books with the same number of votes, so, as you can see, five is somewhat of an… underestimate?

    Anyway. If you’re interested:

See the breakdown of results here!

    Otherwise, happy scrolling!

    Book Club: December Read

In November, we tried out a new thing of offering multiple novellas to pick and choose from. This month we’re going back to a single book (though a fairly short one).

So, you voted, and the genre we’re reading is historical! Don’t worry, though, there’s still plenty of time to read November’s choice(s) before we get to it.

But, without further ado, here’s our choice.

    Book Releases: December 2019

December is not a good month for LGBT books: there are only 27 on this list. If you remember, there were months this year with over 70 releases… But then, people are busy celebrating holidays and planning books for next year! And the December books are still amazing, anyway! So let’s check them out!
