    Book Releases: March 2021

The worst* thing in the world is when your internet decides it’s going to be all buggy just as you’re working on a long post. But worry not! There was one winner here and that was ME. I defeated it, and thus can bring you today’s releases post, at the very early** time of 10pm.

    *It’s probably not.

    **It’s past my bedtime.

As ever, you can find all our previous releases posts here and the rainbow emoji indicates an author who id’s as LGBT.

Book Releases: January-June 2021 Books With Bi Protagonists

If you’ve followed our blog for a while, you know we like to make these releases posts and you also know that last year I’ve made two for books with bi and/or pan protagonists. So of course, here I am again, this year.

Like before, I want to make clear that I tried my hardest to only include books where it’s very clear a character actually is bisexual (or pansexual), so that y’all get real rep. I also included books with bi and pan love interests, since those are usually rather big roles too. If I missed any books, because I only knew they feature a sapphic or achillean main character, please let me know!

And like always, the rainbow emoji means the author is LGBT. Happy reading!

Music Releases: LGBT songs of January 2021

As always, there are ten songs on the post itself but so many more on the mix at the end of it! It’s really simply the fact that I don’t want to make these posts super long; I clearly love all those songs equally, because our community is ridiculously talented.

Anyway, I didn’t mention it in the post since I assume there’s no way you guys don’t know about it, but just in case: you have already seen It’s a Sin, right? And listened to the title song by Years & Years?

And if you need even more new music, check out all my previous monthly posts right here!

    Book Releases: February 2021

We’re barely a month into this new year but it sure feels like a decade already, doesn’t it… To make everything better, though, I’m here with a list of over 110 LGBT books coming out in February! Whatever happens next, at least y’all have a lot of stuff to read.

As always, a rainbow emoji is next to LGBT authors. And if you know I made any mistakes here, feel free to let me know.

And if you need some more books, you can find all our previous releases posts here.

Book Releases: 2021 Sapphic Releases (January to June)

A mere week after I started working on this post, it is finally ready to go. If you were wondering exactly what sapphic books are upcoming in 2021, then look no further! There are over 250 for you right here, and just in time for f/f February, should you decide to take part in that.

Undoubtedly I have missed off books (I’m already predicting that I’ll find another as soon as I hit post on this), so I will be going through the post fairly regularly and adding more that I find, don’t worry!

Book Releases: 2021 Books With Non-Cis Protagonists

I didn’t want to just use an umbrella term, which is why this post isn’t titled “2021 Trans Books”, although it might have worked too. But let’s go with “non-cis” as something broader, since there will be books on this list with agender characters, genderqueer, genderfluid, sci-fi novels with approach to gender like we don’t have here & now.

Like in my post of last year, I decided to only include books featuring main characters falling into any of those non-cis categories. I allowed myself also love interests or parents, or really major side characters. But on the whole, the idea was to have an actual rep, not a trans character mentioned in passing on page 275.

I’m sure I have missed some books and will update the post a few times throughout the year. Please leave a comment, if you know of any books I didn’t put in yet! And as always, books by LGBT authors have a rainbow emoji next to the title.

Book Releases: LGBT YA Books of January-June 2021

At this point it’s a tradition: I’ve already made a compilation posts about 2019 LGBT YA books & about 2020 LGBT YA books (first half of the year and second).

So it’s absolutely no surprise to anyone that I’m here with a list of LGBT YA books of 2021, right? Well, the first half of the year anyway. Over 175 of them! Have I missed any?

The books are (more or less) in a chronological order of publication, and I tried to be as specific with the rep as it was possible, given I have only read a few of them so far myself. Which of course means, please correct me if I’m wrong. As always, books by LGBT authors also have a rainbow emoji next to the title. Enjoy and preorder!

Music Releases: LGBT songs of December 2020

The last post about music from 2020! And I didn’t even include any Christmas music on the post itself (it’s there on the mix, don’t worry!), but if you’re feeling nostalgic, check out the Make the Yuletide Gay mix.

Music truly was one of the only things that made that hellish year bearable, so let’s go! Enjoy!

Book Releases: All The 2020 Releases We Heard About Too Late

After three days of wrangling this post (there is nothing worse than when your browser and internet connection decide to take turns screwing up while you’re trying to make the longest post known to man), it’s finally done! An absolutely not at all definitive list of books we heard about too late to add them to our monthly releases lists. Yeah, that’s a mouthful I know.

Undoubtedly, there are still yet more we’ve missed off, even after all this, but here are the 380 or so books that we didn’t get the first time round.

But before we start, just for you all, have a list of

ALL THE LGBT RELEASES (THAT WE KNEW ABOUT) FROM 2020

    Book Releases: January 2021

It being the end of 2020 (finally) it’s time to start looking ahead to what 2021 has to offer us in terms of releases (spoilers: it’s a lot and it looks amazing). So, if you’re wondering what to do with the Christmas money and/or book tokens you’ve received, then here are 65 books releasing in January you might consider preordering!

Book Releases: Ownvoices M/M books of July-December 2020

I already showed you all the M/M books written by achillean authors that were published in the first half of this year. Now it’s time for the second half!

I use the “ownvoices” term from the title in a pretty loose sense. So you will find books here by gay authors featuring bi characters, and so on. But at the end of the day, all the authors in this post know first-hand what love between men looks like.

    Without a further ado, then!

    Book Releases: December 2020

Can you guys believe this hell year is almost over? Yeah, me neither! I have no idea when this happened and how the time works anymore. I sure am glad that 2020 is basically behind us, though. Hopefully next year will be better. Anyway! If you’re looking for last minute holiday gifts or simply something to read on a cozy winter afternoon, browse away! There are almost 50 LGBT books coming out in December 2020!

A reminder that a rainbow emoji indicates that the author is LGBT, but not necessarily that the specific rep in the book is ownvoices.

And if you need some more books, you can find all our previous releases posts here.

Book Releases: Ownvoices M/M books of January-June 2020

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that more m/m books come out each year compared to f/f ones. This is not to say that there aren’t a lot of sapphic books, though! And if you think otherwise, take a look at Charlotte’s posts of this year releases: part one & part two. But this is not really my point.

My point is that a vast majority of the m/m books are actually written by women. Very often straight women. There isn’t necessarily anything wrong with that, per se, those can still be good books. (They very often don’t offer good, respectful gay representation, but that’s a whole other conversation.)

It got me thinking, though. How many books written by mlm authors were published this year? Turns out not that many… Which only means we should support them all the more.

Music Releases: LGBT songs of October 2020

It sure was nice to use the first week of November to curate my playlist of the LGBT songs that came out last month instead of, you know… focusing about anything else. Good life choices, me.

Anyway, maybe you will understand my pain of choosing only ten songs to highlight in the post itself when I tell you the mix actually is 78 songs long. A LOT of great music to choose from!!

But if that’s still somehow not enough for you, check out all my previous monthly posts right here!
