Sometimes, all you really want to do is have a little break from everything and read some kids’ books. This is, I’m sure, a relatable feeling for us all. Like with most other age ranges, 2023 is sure to be a bumper crop of LGBT middle grade and picture books, starting with the 61 MG books and 16 picture books we have below. Undoubtedly this number will grow, but here’s a first look at what the year has in store!

Music Releases: LGBT songs of January 2023

New year, new songs! I don’t know about you, guys, but personally I had a pretty good January. And the music I was listening to definitely was a giant contributor! So let’s talk about all the songs LGBT artists releases last month! (Well, by “all” I mean the songs I know about…)

I’m changing the format of those posts the tiniest bit for the new year: they will now feature 12 songs I wanna feature (some favourites, some I think you must put on your radar) and I won’t be noting down the labels the artists use to describe themselves anymore (that part always felt lowkey invasive).

And of course, like always, at the end of the post there is a Spotify playlist with all the January songs!

Book Releases: 2023 Sapphic Releases (January to June)

The start of the year means the first editions of all our big releases posts are coming out and today is the monster that is sapphic releases (part one), with over 350 books on here at first go. Obviously, we anticipate this number will steadily increase, perhaps even from the moment I hit post (as is usually the way).

As you may have noticed, this year our releases posts look a little different. That’s mostly to cut down on how much work we have to put into them at the start (adding 400 books to a post in one go is no mean feat, let me tell you), but also to make it easier and quicker to update. So, as a compromise and to make it easier to find what you might enjoy, I’ve also split this post into genres.

Wrap-up: December 2022

Welcome to our final wrap up, and not just for 2022! From now on, if you want an insight into what we’ve read/watched/listened to, we’ll be sending out a newsletter every month. We’re also planning on posting a bit less often on here, in part to give ourselves a bit of a break between posts, and in part because after 4 and a bit years, we’re finally running low on new ideas.
