Why Should I Read It?

If you like the kind of urban fantasy that Cassandra Clare writes, then this is the book for you. It follows a group of kids who are really not qualified for this, thanks very much, but are the only ones left who might do anything about it. And the sequel came out just last month (because once you finish this one, you’re going to want to hop straight on that—pun not intended).

Why Should I Read It?

One ought not ask why one should read a Courtney Milan novel, one ought just do it. And particularly in this case. This book is a combination of the hate to love and mistaken identity tropes where he’s one of her most loyal blog followers, but when they meet in real life, they hate one another. And, in true Courtney Milan fashion, the tension is exquisite.

Why Should I Read It?

This is probably one of the best books I read in the entirety of 2020 (and yes, I did read over 600). I might even go so far as to call it one of the best science fiction books I’ve ever read. Actually, there’s no might about it. If you love sci fi, if you’ve not really tried the genre, no matter your position on it, this one is highly worth the read.

Why Should I Read It?

In all the Talia Hibbert books I’ve read, there’s not a single one I haven’t loved, so really, I think that should be enough to convince you on this one. But, if it’s not (which is fine I guess), then read it for Zaf. I know this is a LGBT blog, but let me just take a moment to talk about the only cishet man with rights. I mean. He listens to romance audiobooks!

Why Should I Read It?

If you have somehow missed all of the hype around this book in the last year, please sit yourself down and rectify that. It has the sweetest romance at its heart and is really just a whole lot of fun. It’s also got the distinction of being one of the very few audiobooks I’ve actively enjoyed.

Why Should I Read It?

Like the title suggests, this is a truly transcendent book. Okay, so I’m a little biased, having studied some neuroscience, I think I was always going to love it, just from that. But even if you don’t love neuroscience, this book is just poetry in prose form. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to go out and buy everything else the author has ever written.

Why Should I Read It?

Who doesn’t love a good historical paranormal mystery, where the lead investigator is a journalist, looking to expose corruption and police brutality? Okay, so that’s quite specific, but if it sounds like your thing, I would highly recommend giving this a read. The second arc of it is also currently ongoing.

Why Should I Read It?

If you, like me, have been in and out of lockdown for about a year, and you find yourself just wanting a comfort read of some sort (any sort), then, were I able to physically shove this book into your hands, I would. Even if you haven’t been back and forth with lockdowns, I would. Basically, just read it.
