Book Recs: Bi MCs and M/F Romance (I)

Today’s list, brought to you late this evening, is one I touted doing a few months’ back, which got added to my (long) list of post ideas and which I am just now finally getting around to. So, here we are. Ten books featuring bi MCs in m/f romances. And, because when I started listing all the books I knew, the list got steadily longer and longer (if we include those I still need to read), this will have multiple parts to come.

One little note before we start: this list includes bi MCs with POVs only. That is, a bi love interest, despite the fact they are a pretty major character, would not get included. For this list alone, obviously.

Why Should I Read It?

In all seriousness, this may well be my favourite romance that I’ve read all year. Definitely my favourite contemporary one at least. And it’s the first book I thought of when I decided on this rec list. One man in this world deserves rights and that man is Zafir Ansari.

Why Should I Read It?

If you weren’t on some level expecting an Alyssa Cole book on this list, then I don’t know what to say to you. Thus far, A Prince on Paper is my favourite of hers that I’ve read (although I am very eagerly awaiting the f/f one next May) and, yes, you absolutely can read it as a standalone (and you should. Right now. Go on).

Ditto what I said in the first line of the paragraph above, but this time about Courtney Milan. Adrian and Cam will have you laughing, sobbing and pining, sometimes all at once. And when you’ve read this one, you can go and read Courtney Milan’s entire backlist. You know you want to.

Why Should I Read It?

This is a cheat rec of my own now, since it’s not out until next March, but if there is any 2021 release I would beg you to preorder (that I’ve already read), it would be this. Come for the bi mc, stay for the creepy murder mansion, a proper enemies to lovers romance, and lots of snowy misty woods.

Why Should I Read It?

This is a book that just perfectly lends itself to a TV show (hi, Netflix, please listen!). It has that sun-soaked and summery vibe (in fact, read it during the winter and I can guarantee* you will get some vitamin D by osmosis). It also has a very very very sweet romance that is centralish to the story.

If you’re looking for a tightly plotted and tense mystery to go along with your romance, this would be top of my list. You never know quite how the plot is going to go, who’s suspicious one moment and who the next. And to top it off, you probably won’t see the ending coming…

Why Should I Read It?

If you haven’t heard me begging you to read this, one of my favourite mystery series of all time, before, well you had better listen carefully right now. Each book is a fast paced and tension filled mystery, sure, but it’s also a very people-focused series. And the balance struck between those two things is perfect.

Why Should I Read It?

Two people who may or may not hate each other, shoved together to work on a project? You had me from the moment you opened your mouth. It’s also massively sweet and funny and may very well end up making you cry. Basically the perfect romcom.
