Book Releases: Twitter’s Anticipated Releases, Or A Look at What 2023 Has in Store

You may remember a while back we tweeted a question into the void, about LGBT releases people were looking forward to for 2023 (as we have done for two years now). Well, if all those tweets seemed a little much to sort through, we’ve collated them here for easy viewing! All 128 books mentioned for you to scroll through. With some gorgeous covers to boot.

We did this last year and the year before too, if you remember, so you can check that out to see what was included then (also, some of the books in last year’s post have been pushed to 2023, as will, undoubtedly, several of this year’s post to next year. Even more to look forward to!). And of course, this post is a drop in the ocean compared to everything we know coming out next year, so make sure to keep an eye out for our releases posts so you don’t miss any!

Finally, a little key (bearing in mind that it’s a little hard to confirm exact rep so far out & some we think might be gay, but only based on an author’s previous output):

    ๐Ÿงก = sapphic rep
    ๐Ÿ’› = achillean rep
๐Ÿ’™ = trans or nonbinary rep
๐Ÿ’š = other or unknown rep

Most Anticipated 2022 Releases: July to December

This is always the most difficult post to write for the blog. Choosing just one book per month that we’re most excited about? A truly Herculean task.

In a departure from our usual rules, though, we’ve chosen this time to let ourselves pick books we might have read ARCs of (although, in the end, this turned out to only be one…). Since just because you’ve read a book, doesn’t mean you’re not excited about it anymore, does it?

Most Anticipated 2022 Releases: January to June

It’s that horrible, horrible time of year again, when we look at what’s going to get published next year and make ourselves choose one (1) LGBT book per month that we’re most excited about. It’s not easy, it’s not pretty; sometimes we fight over books, sometimes we cry a little because we can’t decide on just one

To make things marginally more manageable, like in previous years, we’re sticking only to books we haven’t read ARCs of yet. (So if there’s something huge and obvious missing here, that’s probably why!) Enjoy!

Book Releases: Twitter’s Anticipated Releases, Or A Look at What 2022 Has in Store

In my humble opinion, today’s post is the most exciting post we have this month. A while ago on twitter (a while because I got impatient and didn’t want to wait), we asked the question: what are your most anticipated 2022 LGBT releases. And, lo and behold, here they are, all in a post, so you can get excited about what’s to come! (And obviously, get a few preorders in, since we are hitting somewhat of a crisis.)

We also did this last year, if you remember, so you can check that out, and see how much the list has grown (66 books on that postโ€”but 2 delayedโ€”vs. 120 on this), and also have a look to see how many you’ve read!

Finally, a little key (bearing in mind that it’s a little hard to confirm rep so far out & some we think might be gay, but only based on an author’s previous output):

    ๐Ÿงก = sapphic rep
    ๐Ÿ’› = achillean rep
๐Ÿ’™ = trans or nonbinary rep
๐Ÿ’š = other or unknown rep

Most Anticipated 2021 Releases: July to December

It’s that time of year again when we put an impossible task before ourselves: choose only one (1) book per month you’re most excited about. When we know and are waiting for dozens of them? It’s like choosing a favourite pet.

It’s a tiny bit easier because we also have a rule: neither of use is allowed to choose a book we have already read an arc of. And since we were very lucky this year with advanced copies, the pool to choose from was a tiny bit smaller. This is why you won’t see The Hollow Heart or A Marvellous Light, or Iron Widow here, to name just a few…

This is all to say that a ridiculous number of great LGBT books is being published this year, and below are six we (haven’t read yet and) are most excited about. And here’s what we were waiting for in the first half of the year!

Most Anticipated 2021 Releases: January to June

It’s a busy start to 2021 for this blog, what with our favourite books and tv/film/other media of 2020 posts, but now we come to the exciting stuff. Our 12 most anticipated releases of January to June 2021. There are, obviously, a vast number of books we couldn’t include here, so this is not the be all and end all of everything we’re excited about.

This year we are also going to do our best to actually read every book that we select in these two posts (instead of deciding to try it in September, leaving Anna with a near impossible task).

Also an important note from Anna: there are books I was able to choose as my most anticipated because I haven’t read them yet, because unlike Charlotte I’m a little baby forever stuck in a reading slump and I don’t read ARCs we’re granted on time.

Book Releases: Twitter’s Anticipated Releases, Or A Look at What 2021 Has in Store

A few months back, I asked people on twitter what five LGBT releases they were most anticipating in 2021. Yes, I know, five was very harsh of me, especially since I couldn’t even keep myself to that few anyway, but hey. You do what you gotta do.

Anyway, I figured I’d turn those tweets into a post, to give you a little bit of a taster of 2021’s releases. Also feast your eyes on the gorgeousness of these covers so far! I cannot wait to see what else is to come.

Finally, a little key (although bearing in mind that it’s a little hard to confirm rep so far out!):

    ๐Ÿ’— = wlw rep
    ๐Ÿ’™ = mlm rep
๐Ÿ’œ = trans or nonbinary rep

Most Anticipated 2020 Releases: July to December

Ignoring the fact that this post is a little delayed and a couple of the books may have been published (we did at least pick them earlier than this!), but today we have for you, our most anticipated releases of the second half of this year.

Not that either of us really read any that we selected for the first half.

But anyway. Check out what we picked, and let us know what you’re looking forward to most!

Most Anticipated 2020 Releases: January to June

It’s that time of year again when we can look at everything that is coming our way and chose what we’re most excited about. We do these things because we like to suffer… Honestly, our list of 2020 LGBT books is almost 300 titles long and we decided making a list of twelve is a good idea?

But hey, who doesn’t like lists, right? So dive in to see which books of the upcoming six months we simply cannot wait to read!

Most Anticipated Releases: 2019, July to December

Way back last December, we made a post of one book each we were excited for for every month from January to June (which you can find here). It’s now the end of June, we’re halfway through the year, and so here’s part two of that. One book from each of us for every month until the end of the year.

You have no idea how hard this was to do. Just one book? When there are so many amazing releases still to come? But we had to limit it that much because, like we said in the last post, there’s just so many exciting releases coming (no, really, on the year, our list is touching FOUR HUNDRED BOOKS).

As ever, we will be doing posts of releases per month, but here are twelve (very gay) books we just can’t wait for!

Most Anticipated Releases: 2019, January to June

First things first! Let me remind you guys abt the G I V E A W A Y we are running! You have a chance to win one book that’s coming out in 2019! You can also just check it out on Charlotte’s twitter!

Anyway. The year is coming to the end which means it’s high time to talk about what 2019 has in store for us! We all know 20gayteen has been good to the LGBT readers, some truly spectacular books came out & our gay hearts were soaring. But guess what? 2019 is shaping up to be just as good, if not better!

This post is actually just a taste of what’s to come. Charlotte and me compiled a list of upcoming releases that turned out to be way too long to present you all at once! So what we settled on finally is this: we both chose only one release per month that we’re especially excited about.

But guys, why so few, you might ask? Well, like I said, there is A Lot of LGBT magic coming our way next year. Plus we will still be doing our monthly (longer) posts about new releases, like we started this fall. We don’t wanna overwhelm you! (Also… Not all books have set release dates yet & it was kinda messing up our list…)

So let’s go!! Twelve beautifully gay books to look forward to!
